Project Description

Minimalistic Modern

This West University master bathroom remodel was quite the challenge. Our design team reworked the existing walls within the space, along with a structural engineer, to create an even flow. In the original floor plan you had to walk through the study to get to the wet room “Potty Room.” We recreated the space to have a unique modern look. The custom vanity is made from “Tree Frog” veneer and a floating vanity with a waterfall edge. We suspended overlapping circular mirrors, along with a custom tiled modular frame that have a chrome reveal. The tile is from our beloved Porcelanosa, right here in Houston. The large wall tiles completely cover the walls from floor to ceiling. The freestanding shower/bathtub combination features a curbless shower floor along with a linear drain. We cut the wood tile down into smaller sizes to give it a teak-like mat effect. This is officially the 25th curbless shower we have installed; there is an art to installing one correctly. The wet room has a wall-mount toilet with a wash-let. The bathroom also has other favorable features, such as turning the small study of the space into a wine/coffee bar with a pull out refrigerator drawer, made by Fisher Paykel.
